Here we go for a 7 days road trip on the Island of Beauty. Corsica doesn't bear its name by chance, beautiful and varied landscapes (beaches, scenery, mountains, etc.), will make you travel and dream!

We started our adventure by landing at Calvi airport in the north of Corsica. In order to be able to move easily on the island we rented a car. You will find our route below:

St-Cyprien Bay

As soon as we arrived, we drove to the south to arrive in the Bay of St-Cyprien (near Porto-Vecchio), a nice and quiet little bay. And spent our first night on the boat Nemo.

A magnificent sunset accompanied us throughout the evening! The sunrise too by the way.

Porto-Vecchio

The next morning, we enjoyed a bit of the view, had a quiet lunch and then headed to Porto-Vecchio.

We stopped in a small port to eat and continued our way to the beach of Santa-Guilia. This beautiful beach with its turquoise water.

This beach is very well known in Corsica and in the region, so there are quite a lot of people in the middle of summer, but that doesn't prevent you from enjoying it.

A small piece of advice I can give you: buy an umbrella if you don't have one, because on the beaches, shade is scarce and you risk getting severe sunburn if you don't get in the shade and don't protect yourself.

Bonifacio

Our day ended in Bonifacio. It's personally, the place I preferred in Corsica, despite its touristic side, it's beautiful!

In the evening, we went to the old town which is high up and on the edge of the cliffs, it's very impressive.

We were lucky to still have an incredible sunset (I am an unconditional #sunsetlover) and even beautiful fireworks because those of August 15 (Assumption) had been moved.

The next day, we went for a kayak ride with Bonif'Kayak. We paddled to the Grand Sperone beach. Wow but what a beach, transparent, turquoise water!

On the way, the waves were there, we had to use our little arms.

Propriano

Our adventure continues and we end the day at Propriano. Very quiet place, with a nice beach! We liked it very much! There are also several small restaurants on the beach.

Another sunset that makes you dream! And the next day we took advantage of this beach of small pebbles but still very pleasant.

Ajaccio

Our journey continues going up the island towards the East and arrive at the end of the day in Ajaccio. Unfortunately we did not stay very long, we arrive in the evening and leave the next morning. (Disgusted by our hotel).

Lake Melù (near Corte)

In the morning, we left in the direction of the center of Corsica and arrive towards the Lake of Melù.

There, we made a hike in the mountains to get to the lake, big surprise, not having looked too much at the plans, we didn't think (especially me) that it would be so physical. It goes up a lot and in the rocks, it's worth it but it's not easy. I've done a lot of sports in my life, a little less now, but the breath has always been a problem, so uphill, I'm not telling you it was quite epic.

It's possible to swim in the lake but the water is very cold and with the wind it's not very pleasant.

Île Rousse / Santa-Reparata-di-Balagna

The penultimate day on the island, already... the end is approaching but we're still enjoying it. We headed north again and spent the afternoon on a beach towards Ile Rousse, it wasn't the best but maybe because the weather was mixed that day! Beach nap (they are the best) and let's enjoy!

Then we ended our day in Santa-Reparata-di-Balagna where we had our hotel.

For our last full day on the island, we started the day at the Codole lake.

At the beginning, it was raining a lot, the day started well... plus we had to leave the hotel. We went close to this lake and stayed in the car, in front of Netflix, very funny but not very chill.

As soon as the sun showed up, we went to the edge of this lake. Very beautiful, special atmosphere where we felt like we were in a completely different country.

On the other hand (yes, because a good thing never happens without a galley), we drove by car on a road not made for it at all. We were really scared of getting stuck or breaking the car (great one day before giving it back). But in the end we avoided the worst.

Back on the roads we arrived in Calvi, last destination.

Calvi

We chose Calvi as our last destination because we had to take the plane there and practically speaking it was the easiest. We spent the evening at the port, there are lots of restaurants and bars, it's very nice.

And the next morning, we washed and returned the car and went back to Switzerland after these beautiful holidays!
